We Never Charge Candidates. Here Is How It Works
By Techventive Editorial
Ask around and you will hear stories about recruiters who charge candidates for a shot at a job. A registration fee here, a resume-writing fee there, sometimes a cut of the first paycheck. It happens often enough that jobseekers learn to be wary of anyone offering to help them get hired. We want to be clear about where we stand: we never charge candidates a rupee, for registration, for resume help, for an introduction, or for anything else. Here is how getting placed through us actually works, and why we built it this way.
Why Some Agencies Charge Candidates, and Why We Do Not
Charging candidates is a shortcut. It lets an agency make money regardless of whether a placement happens, which removes the pressure to actually find someone a good role. If you get paid either way, there is less reason to work hard on the match. Our model works the other way around. Companies pay us when they hire, which means we only get paid when we have done the job we were hired to do: finding the right person for the right role. Candidates are never part of that transaction, and never will be. You are not our customer in a financial sense, but you are the person whose time and trust we are asking for, and we take that seriously enough to build our whole process around it.
What a Recruiter Can and Cannot Do for You
A good recruiter can open doors you might not find on your own, prepare you for what a hiring team is actually looking for, and give you a straight answer instead of silence. A recruiter cannot promise you a job, skip the parts of an interview process that exist for good reason, or make a company hire someone who is not a fit. Be cautious of anyone who claims otherwise, since that claim usually signals something else is being sold to you. Our job is to represent your profile honestly and put it in front of the right people, not to guarantee an outcome that depends on more than one conversation and more than one decision-maker.
Freshers Versus Experienced: What We Look for in Each
With freshers, we look at fundamentals, communication, and genuine interest in the field, since there is little work history to go on yet. We ask about projects, coursework, internships, and how someone has taught themselves something on their own, because that tells us more than a grade sheet does. With experienced professionals, we look at the specifics: what you actually did in your last few roles, how you describe the harder parts of the job, and whether your experience lines up with what a company needs right now. We also ask about the parts of past roles that did not go well, since how someone talks about a difficult stretch tells us a great deal. Neither group is treated as an afterthought. Both get the same honesty about fit.
How to Prepare Your Profile
Be specific. "Worked on backend systems" tells us less than "built and maintained an API that other teams depended on." List the tools and technologies you have actually used, not the ones you have heard of or used once in a tutorial. If you are a fresher, include projects and coursework that show how you think, not just what grades you got. Keep your contact details current, since a strong profile is only useful if we can reach you when a match comes up, and a missed call can mean a missed opportunity that does not come back around. It also helps to be clear about what you actually want next, since a profile that says you are open to anything is harder for us to match than one that names a direction.
What Happens After You Register
Once your profile is with us, we review it against roles we are actively working on, across our client companies and our own network. If nothing fits right away, your profile stays with us for future roles rather than being set aside and forgotten. If we do find a match, we contact you first and explain the role before anything else happens. Nothing moves without your yes. If you are interested, we help set up interviews, share what we know about what the team is looking for, and stay in touch through the process, win or lose. If you are not interested, that is fine too, and it will not count against you the next time a role comes up.
Honest Timelines
People often ask how long this takes, and the honest answer is that it depends on the role, the company, and how many strong candidates are already in the pipeline for that opening. Some matches come together quickly, especially when a role is well defined and there is genuine urgency on the company side. Others take longer because the right role has not opened up yet, and no amount of follow-up changes that. What we can promise is that we will not leave you guessing. If we have nothing for you right now, we will say so plainly, rather than stringing you along with vague updates. We would rather tell you the truth about where things stand than manufacture false urgency about a role that is not ready to move.
Get Started
If any of this sounds like how you would want to be treated during a job search, register your profile and let us take it from there. There is no cost to you now, and there never will be.
